1. It’s for everyone! No matter your gender, fitness level or your experience with rugby we have a bootcamp running for you. Men’s are meeting 6:45 at Queens Park, Women’s 6:30 on Tuesday and Thursdays. Even if you don’t consider yourself a member of the LGBT+ community you are welcome to come along. Rugby is a great sport as a team requires a number of body types and sizes to work, there is a place for everyone.
2. You don’t need anything but a pair of boots! A cheap old pair is completely fine, maybe one that’s been sitting in the closet since your PE days…
3. It’s the perfect time to try something new, for free and without any commitment. You don’t have to continue with the club after bootcamp (although we hope you do!). The summer preseason is the perfect time to learn core skills before training starts proper at the end of summer.
4. It’s the perfect chance to make new friends. Bootcamp buddies are friends for life, and we have club members from all walks of life. You’ll meet amazing new people and there is plenty of opportunity to socialise including an ‘end of bootcamp’ social when you all graduate.
5. You won’t be playing ‘catch up’ with the main club. Raptors have players of all experience levels, and coming from bootcamp isn’t considered a disadvantage (if anything it’s the opposite!). Many of our bootcampers go on to become core members of the club and valued players. The bootcamp sets a solid foundation for good rugby in the season to come.
Feel free to reach out to the socials, or any club member you may already know, if you have any questions. There is still plenty of time to take part, we hope to see you there soon!
